What inspired you to study in an LIS program?
I was working at a library branch in Georgia, and my management encouraged me to apply to the MLIS program at Valdosta. Once I was in the program, I was dismissed for being overly qualified to continue working at the library branch, where management consisted of recent high school graduates.
What part(s) of your program are you enjoying/have you enjoyed?
The emphasis on DEI every class allowed me to continue to explore the theme throughout my time in the program.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of all the relationships I’ve been able to create and maintain across Georgia and the county during the MLIS program.
What are you most looking forward to in your future career?
I am looking forward to receiving my JD so I can be even more effective in ensuring the continued professionalization of librarianship in Georgia.
What’s something you’ve read recently that you’ve enjoyed?
Women Talking by Miriam Toews
